Nature’s Grace and Wellness, with the help and support from mental health organizations, is empowering the conversation surrounding mental health and the cannabis industry through the Spark the Conversation initiative.
The Importance of Mental Health in the Cannabis Industry
As cultivators, we understand the importance of breaking down decades of stigmas surrounding cannabis use and mental health. We believe that sparking the conversation about mental health is paramount to overall wellness and being proactive. Cannabis can be part of a healthy, happy and active lifestyle. We believe partaking in cannabis is not an escape but a form of self-care.
What types of activities does the initiative do?
The Spark the Conversation campaign functions through industry workshops, Spark Hub community outreach and education, and digital resource sharing. Our goal is to have the whole cannabis community involved in our peer-to-peer efforts & join us in achieving our goals of ending the stigma, breaking the silence, and normalizing mental health and cannabis.
The Spark Workshop
One of the biggest goals of the Spark initiative is to create safe spaces for cannabis industry professionals to come together and share their struggles or experiences with mental health. We created an educational peer-to-peer workshop geared toward people in the cannabis industry and the patients/adult-use consumers they serve. Participants of the workshop are educated on mental health definitions, statistics, how to perform self-care, local organization resources & hotlines, and overall how to be supportive of proactive mental health care for their immediate communities. In simple words — it’s a mental health 101 workshop.
We believe this is an excellent way of connecting our community in a way that makes them feel seen, heard, and a reminder that their needs also matter.
Since the inception of Spark the Conversation in 2019, we have been able to:
Visit 35+ unique dispensaries throughout Illinois
Educate 400+ Budristas & managers

In order to bring the campaign to dispensary patients, consumers, and the general cannabis community, we often have our Spark Hub make an appearance! Our Spark Hub is a pop-up that can be brought to almost any environment or outreach event. Dispensaries often request to have this educational pop-up so that their customers may receive information like mental health resources, self-care ideas, and community outreach techniques.
